Pizza ATM Debuts at Xavier University
Ohio’s Xavier University is home to the nation’s first “Pizza ATM.” Yes, you read that right. The machine will serve hot, “restaurant-quality” pies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The machine boasts an internal convection oven and a touchscreen allowing users to choose toppings, before being delivered a 12-inch boxed pizza — via a pizza slot — in just three minutes, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. And all this happiness at just $9.

The ATM, of course, has its limits, housing only 70 pizzas at a time, created by the university’s dining services. Employees will be alerted to when the machine is running low so they can restock before a campus-wide crisis ensues.
“We were looking for a way to solve this problem of having a late-night pizza option on campus,” Assistant Vice President Jude Kiah tells The Cincinnati Enquirer. While new to North America, Europe has had access to the technology for 14 years — the machine was created by a French company. (A chef from France even flew to Ohio to teach Xavier employees how to create the high-quality pies.)
The ATM is still in its testing phase, but everything should be perfected before classes resume in the fall. And so far, reviews have been beyond ecstatic.
