A Cat has been reunited with its owner after spending eight days trapped in a special delivery box of DVDs.

Lucky Cupcake, an eight-year-old Siamese Cat, travelled 260 miles in a parcel from her home in Cornwall to West Sussex. Owner Julie Baggott was astonished when after more than a week of searching in Cornwall the cat had been traced.

The cat had somehow got into a box that she mailed from her home to an address in Worthing. Amazingly, Cupcake is fit and healthy despite going days on end with no food or water.

Julie said:

I feel terrible about what’s happened. I put everything in the box and I sealed it straight away, so I don’t know how she managed to get in there. It was a miracle because she was alive, she’s managed to survive that awful ordeal.”

She added that she had “looked everywhere” for her beloved pet after realizing she was missing and having a “horrible, scary feeling”. Cupcake was reunited with tearful Julie on Saturday after the Cornwall resident received a call from a Sussex vets.

Grove Lodge Vets in Worthing managed to track the cat down from her microchip. The cat had found her way to the vet’s after the shocked recipient of the package rang the RSPCA.

Vet Ben Colwell said he had never seen anything like it. “Normally a cat would get very sick with three or four days of not eating,” he said.

“I don’t understand it myself. It’s miraculous. “She was quite dehydrated – it was a bit of an ordeal but she could have been a lot sicker.”
