Woman, Aged 100, Gets the Fright of Her Life After Waking up in Bed With This Creature!
An elderly woman got the fright of her life after waking up with this very odd-looking wild animal asleep on her chest. The 100-year-old Miami resident was terrified after discovering the creature on top of her as she slept in her home.
She immediately called her son-in-law Carlos Aguaras, who rushed over to deal with the animal. Carlos told NBC Miami: “I was awaken by a phone call at 2am, which is never good news, and it was from my terrified mother-in-law.”
When he arrived , the animal had made its way into the attic. They managed to lure it into a cage with some food before taking to a local veterinary surgery.
The animal has been identified as a kinkajou, a rainforest mammal related to the raccoon family. It is also known as a honey bear, a wild dog or a night monkey.
The kinkajou is usually found in Central and South American rainforests though it is seldom seen by people due to its strict nocturnal habits. But Dr Harris, who examined this animal at the South Dade Animal Hospital, believes this particular kinkajou is actually a pet.
He said:
No undomesticated wild animal like this would curl up on a woman’s chest to go to sleep.”
The animal, who was later discovered to be named Banana, is being reunited with its owner today.
