Police Respond to Cat With an Assault Rifle in a Tree

OREGON (Web Desk) – In a bizarre incident, the Newport Police in Oregon was informed about a ‘gangster cat’ sitting in a tree which later turned out to be an optical illusion. The black and white cat’s position, the colors, and the shape of the branch all conspired to make it look it was holding an assault rifle.

 The Newport Police Facebook page, which is possibly the best local police Facebook page in America, explained that when the feline was “contacted” by their canine, it was determined that the cat wasn’t in possession of a high powered weapon, but rather holding onto a “non-lethal branch.”

“Reports of an armed cat this morning were unfounded,” police said. Newport police joked that the cat was given a ‘verbal warning’ for posing with what could be mistaken as an assault rifle while wearing poor camouflage attire.
